Ball live01.29.02
According to The Official Brian Tichy Website, Ball, current band of former Foreigner drummer Brian Tichy, will feature a lot of new stuff... new show, new name, new member, new songs... The new shows are going to be played as Mirror Down, mainly because Ball is adding a 2nd guitarist, Mark Dannells, he's a longtime friend of Brian and a great player. Mark just played with the band on January 23rd, and they will do it again this Thursday, January 31st, at The Gig on Melrose. Also, the Ball "American Aggression" CD will be available at this and future shows and at Brian's website.

Don Mancuso live01.29.02
Red Heart guitarist Don Mancuso, former band mate of Foreigner members Lou Gramm and Bruce Turgon in Black Sheep during the early '70s, will be playing on Saturday, February 2nd at JT Wheatfields, Wheatfield, N.Y., along with his current band. Don's first solo album, "Now You See It", was released last year and is featured at Fiesta Productions: Don Mancuso.

Bad Company tour dates and live DVD01.29.02
Bad Company, band of former Foreigner bassist Rick Wills, will play on January 27th at San Manuel, Highland, CA, and on January 30th at The Grove Of Anaheim (formerly Anaheim Theater), Anaheim, CA. Also, the band will release a live DVD in May.

Foreigner expanded CDs04.24.02
According to the Mr. Moonlight's E-zine (#17), Atlantic Recording Corporation and Rhino Entertainment Company have released in U.S.A. and Canada CD versions of the two DVD's released in 2001, "Foreigner" and "4", which contains the same audio tracks that the DVD's but only in stereo mixes. Both expanded CD's were released on April 2th.

Foreigner compilations04.24.02
According to the Mr. Moonlight's E-zine (#17), Atlantic Recording Corporation and Rhino Entertainment Company will release in U.S.A. and Canada a new Foreigner compilation titled "Complete Greatest Hits", while Warner Music and WEA International Inc. will release an "international version" titled "The Definitive", which contains a previously unreleased live version of "Urgent", noted as "Live at the BBC". Both compilations will be released on May 7th.

Foreigner on VH1's "Behind The Music" update04.24.02
According to The Official Foreigner Website and the Mr. Moonlight's E-zine (#17), the long awaited VH1's "Behind The Music" special featuring Foreigner will finally air on Sunday, April 28th. The program will air at 11:00 am, 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm on the 28th. Please be aware that programming schedules are subject to change without notice. Mark Schulman on tour with Cher04.24.02
According to the Mr. Moonlight's E-zine (#17), drummer Mark Schulman will be touring with Cher this year, so he won't be available for Foreigner's summer tour. At this point in time, a replacement drummer for the band has not yet been named.

Former Foreigner drummer Dennis Elliott, now a highly inspired and recognized wood sculptor, is featured on the cover of Woodturning magazine, issue March 2002. The featured article contains an introduction written by Iona S. Elliott, Dennis' wife, where she remembers a couple of interesting and wonderful moments in their pre-Foreigner lives. Also, Dennis relates the evolution of his work, and describes some of his more celestial pieces through an interview conducted by Iona. Art experts express their admiration about almost every possible aspect of Dennis' skills and the whole article is very well illustrated with impressive images of Dennis' beautiful art. Finally, according to the Mr. Moonlight's E-zine (#17), "So Inclined", a Dennis' piece, will be presented in the Spotlight 2002 exhibition, which will take place from May 24th to August 2nd, 2002, at Longwood Center for the Visual Arts, 129 N. According to the Mr. Moonlight's E-zine (#18), after Foreigner completed its drummer auditions the drummer selected for the Summer 2002 tour was Denny Carmassi, formerly with Heart and Coverdale / Page among many others.

Foreigner upcoming events and releases07.07.02
According to the Mr. Moonlight's E-zine (#20), Foreigner expect to release a new CD next year. There has been a lot of writing by everyone and there is a lot of material for a CD, although there is nothing definitive at this point as to when new material will be performed or released. Also, Foreigner plans a 25th Anniversary performance in November, which would include the original lineup and would be released on DVD.

According to the Mr. Moonlight's E-zine (#21), Atlantic Recording Corporation and Rhino Entertainment Company will release in U.S.A. and Canada expanded versions of "Double Vision" and "Head Games". There are plans for bonus material to be available on these releases, just like on the expanded versions of "Foreigner" and "4". The release date of these items is anticipated to be on August 6th.

Foreigner on foreigner lands07.28.02
As you know, Foreigner is already on the road, and the lineup includes: Mick Jones on guitar, Lou Gramm on lead vocals, Bruce Turgon on bass, Jeff Jacobs on keyboards, Thom Gimbel on sax and guitar, and Denny Carmassi on drums. Well, that's the band that will be playing in Mexico in September. And according to The Official Foreigner Website, Mick and Lou will be playing in Belgium and Germany during December.

According to The Official Brian Tichy Website, former Foreigner drummer Brian Tichy is touring U.S.A. and Canada with Billy Idol, along with Steve Stevens on guitar, Steve McGrath on bass, and Derek Sherinian on keyboards. Details at Brian's website and at the Billy Idol Website.

Foreigner expanded CDs details08.02.02
According to The Official Foreigner Website, the two expanded CD's to be released on August 6th will contain bonus material: the "Double Vision" reissue will contain two bonus tracks, "Hot Blooded" and "Love Maker" in live versions; while the "Head Games" reissue will contain a previously unreleased song titled "Zalia", which was originally recorded during the "Head Games" recording sessions but was not included on the album at the time. Foreigner on ESPN's "Mohr Sports"08.02.02
According to The Official Foreigner Website, ESPN has confirmed that Foreigner will appear on its show "Mohr Sports". The interview and performance will take place on Monday, August 5th in Los Angeles. Broadcast date to be announced.

21st Century Schizoid Band on the road08.02.02
21st Century Schizoid Band, current project of former Foreigner member Ian McDonald, will be playing in August and September in U.K. and in November in Japan. Also, the band is looking for dates in Europe and U.S.A.

The band is formed by original King Crimson members multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald and drummer Michael Giles, along with bassist Peter Giles, guitarist Jakko M. Jakszyk, and multi-instrumentalist Mel Collins.

They'll be playing classic songs from the first King Crimson era, the "Giles, Giles And Fripp" and "McDonald And Giles" albums, and later solo efforts. Some of the original pieces will be updated and developed using new arrangements and free improvisation.

"McDonald And Giles" re-issue08.02.02
Virgin Records is set to re-issue the album "McDonald And Giles", recorded by the duo in 1970 following the break-up of the original King Crimson. Ian McDonald, former Foreigner multi-instrumentalist, said in 1998: "... always wanted to do a re-mix and re-mastering job on that album ...". Ben Quon.

Interesting items of the 21st Century Schizoid Band, current project of former Foreigner multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald, are now available from the shop section of Burning Shed: the 21st Century Schizoid Band's Official Bootleg Volume One, previously available only at the band's shows in U.K. and Japan, which features seven songs from the band's current live set and was recorded "as live" at Mark Angelo's Studio in West London two days prior to the group's debut performance at the Canterbury Fayre Festival at the end of August of this year; also, available from the t-shirt section, the 21st Century Schizoid Band's t-shirt (extra large), which features the CD cover of the official bootleg on the front and tour dates on the back. Regarding the 21st Century Schizoid Band, current project of former Foreigner multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald, there are plans for a studio album and U.S. tour in 2003. But nothing official as of yet. A situation similar to Foreigner's planned new studio album / tour for 2003. In the meantime, check out the latest news on the Schizoid front:

A video DVD will be produced featuring the 21st Century Schizoid Band. They are going to attempt a pre Christmas holiday release. It was filmed from their recent Japanese tour. They play two shows in Tokyo at the Kosie Nenkin Hall on November 5th & 6th, followed by one show at the IMP Hall in Osaka.

Shows in Italy and other parts of Europe (e.g. Belgium, Holland) that the band had hope to play at the end of 2002, have been temporarily postponed till the spring of 2003. This will give them more time to plan and organize all the shows and hopefully add some more U.K. dates. Many offers from all over the world have been arriving and the management team will give them all due consideration, so hopefully they'll be playing somewhere near you in the not to distant future.
